How Magnotherapy products are believed to work.

If we only purchased products when we knew exactly how they worked then for most of us our houses and garages would very empty. Having said that there are always those who like to have at least some idea of what makes something work.

The healing properties of magnets have been well known in the far east for centuries and have been used to treat a variety of conditions. What is new is the technology being applied through a better understanding of science.

The only way a magnet can have an effect on any matter is by a transfer of energy. This is achieved through the magnetic fields association with electrons causing them to precess (spin faster). A pulsed electro magnet of the type used by a physiotherapist to help aid healing and reduce pain, can produce a better result than a simple static magnet because the field is resonating and therefore providing greater agitation to elections when compared to normal static magnets. This type of equipment is expensive and requires mains supply, making it less convenient for everyday use.

A brilliant inventor Nigel Broderick developed and patented a static magnet that changed polarity within its own length which led to the development of a magnet module that duplicated the pulsing effect of hospital equipment in so far as any matter passing through its field is subjected to additional agitation.

This work was originally done to develop a fuel saving device. The inventor read in an article that during the Second World War it was important that the bombers on missions over Europe had fighter protection for as long as possible. But there was a limit to the fuel load that the fighters could carry. The fuel during the war years tended also to be of a very poor quality. The fighters were therefore obliged to turn for home early in the mission. An electromagnetic fuel ionisation system was developed that seemed to make the fuel burn more efficiently and gave the fighter escort a small but valuable extra mileage per gallon, about 15%.

FUEL SAVING

This inspired his research that lead to the development of powerful permanent ceramic magnets (using rare metals, Strontium, Neodymium etc). Magnet technology has dramatically advanced in the last 50 years. These Magnetic moduals with the pulsed magnetic effect were launch successfully for motor vehicles and later for gas and oil fired heating systems. These products can dramatically improve the efficiency with which the fuel burns. This results in increased power, reduced fuel consumption and lower emission levels. Nigel Broderick launched these product through his company Ecoflow Ltd (Now Ecoflow plc) in the early nineties using a network of friends telling friends. For the technology was new and not generally understood. Trials showed how well it worked but to establish its credibility friends who had used it and knew how well it worked selling to their friends was the most cost effective way of selling the product. A good product with a money back guarantee  and an ever growing word of mouth network of enthusiasts selling it enabled the company to grow rapidly.

AN UNEXPECTED BENEFIT

Many early distributors of these products found that walking around with these powerful magnets in their pockets had an unexpected side effect. It seemed that these magnets had some sort of therapeutic effect on pain. So many commented that soon a health version of these products was launched.

Strictly speaking it should not have been that surprising. For centuries magnets were believed to have health benefits and a lot of work has been done in this field. Pulsed Electromagnotherapy is use by physiotherapists to aid health. There is a splendid book, Magnotherapy the pHacts by MV Dr Vladislav Vaclavek.

Dr Vaclavek is a scientist who has specialized in metabolism and risk diseases. The cover of his book states that he was in 1999 asked to submit his work to the Nobel Department of the Swedish Academy of Science.
